Business overview

  • Fabrica Holdings is a holding company, adopted in April 2024, over operating subsidiaries. Media4u Co., Ltd. runs corporate SMS messaging, now branded "Aurora X" together with automated voice response and AI calling. Fabrica Communications Co., Ltd. runs the automotive software and repair businesses.
  • The SMS service charges per message sent to companies and local governments. It connects directly to all four mobile carriers: NTT DOCOMO, INC., KDDI CORPORATION, SoftBank Corp. and Rakuten Mobile, Inc. The annual securities report cites a third-party study ranking it first by delivery volume in the domestic corporate SMS market among independent aggregators for five consecutive years.
  • The automotive platform business sells "symphony," a monthly-fee cloud system for used-car dealers that combines inventory and sales management with listing on car search sites. It added a repair-shop billing system in August 2025 and a dealer-to-dealer trading platform in April 2026. The auto service business, the company's original line, repairs accident vehicles for insurers, supplies rental replacement cars and runs a vehicle inspection and maintenance shop in Kasugai, Aichi Prefecture.
  • Segment reporting changed twice in two years. The year to March 2026 used four segments: Business Communication, Automotive Platform, AI and Auto Service. From the first quarter of the year to March 2027, AI was folded into Business Communication, leaving three segments, and research and development moved to the holding company outside any segment (see Performance & Balance).

Investment case

  1. The annual securities report for the year to March 2026 states that every segment grew sales, and that consolidated sales and Business Communication segment profit reached record levels. The first-quarter earnings release for the year to March 2027 reports year-on-year growth in sales and in operating, ordinary and net profit, and says progress is in line with the unchanged full-year forecast (see Performance & Balance).
  2. The company has adopted a progressive dividend policy starting with the year to March 2027: no dividend cuts in principle, a target consolidated payout ratio, and increases in line with earnings growth. In the first-quarter release it also raised its dividend forecast for the year.
  3. The company bought back its own shares during the year to March 2026, stating the aims as better capital efficiency, a flexible capital policy and greater shareholder returns. A reduction of the entire capital reserve, transferred to other capital surplus under Article 448(1) of the Companies Act, took effect on July 31, 2026, with the stated purpose of preparing for flexible capital policy.
  4. Long-term borrowings were fully repaid by June 30, 2026, and management states that cash on hand gives sufficient liquidity. Operating and capital spending is funded mainly from operating cash flow and own funds (see Performance & Balance).

Bear case

  1. The group depends heavily on Media4u. The risk disclosure states that this subsidiary accounts for a high share of consolidated sales and contributes heavily to consolidated profit. For the year to March 2026, Fabrica Communications, which holds the automotive businesses, reported an ordinary loss and a net loss at the subsidiary level.
  2. Automotive Platform segment profit fell in the year to March 2026, which the company attributes to investment in new products. The AI segment's loss widened in the same year before the segment was merged into Business Communication. The company states that the new symphony services still need to reach early monetization.
  3. The SMS business relies on direct contracts with the four mobile carriers, and on outside developers that build and partly operate its sending systems. The company lists carrier policy changes, higher per-message prices or loss of a carrier contract as risks to results.
  4. Auto Service sales and segment profit declined in the first quarter of the year to March 2027. The company attributes this to a temporary margin drop while it shifts used-car sales from luxury to lower-priced vehicles.

Catalysts

  • Second-quarter and later results for the year to March 2027, tracked against the full-year forecast. The company does not publish a first-half forecast because it manages performance on an annual basis.
  • The first full year of the progressive dividend policy and the revised dividend forecast. Also watch how the surplus created by the July 31, 2026 capital reserve reduction is used.
  • Monetization of the symphony repair-billing system and the dealer-to-dealer trading platform, and uptake of the Aurora X brand launched in May 2026. Quarterly cumulative contract companies and paid account counts are disclosed in the earnings releases.

Key risks

  • Key-person dependence: the president and CEO has led the company since its founding. The company states it is building a management structure that does not rely excessively on him, but that his inability to serve could affect results.
  • Regulation: Media4u and the company are registered telecommunications carriers under the Telecommunications Business Act, and registration can be revoked for violations. Corporate SMS falls under the Act on Regulation of Transmission of Specified Electronic Mail, so client violations could affect the business.
  • Traffic to the group's websites depends on search engines. The company cites algorithm changes and the spread of generative-AI search as risks to user acquisition. It also lists AI output errors and AI regulation, including the EU AI Act, as risks.
  • The group has acquired businesses and states it will use M&A when needed. The purchase of Autorex in the year to March 2026 added goodwill and customer-related assets that could be impaired if expected returns are not achieved.

Assumptions

  • Financial figures on this page come from beluuga.ai's daily data set; trading liquidity is measured over the period shown. We do not use consensus estimates.
  • Segment results for the year to March 2026 and the first quarter of the year to March 2027 use different segment definitions, each with restated prior periods. Because research and development moved to unallocated corporate costs, segment profit is not directly comparable across these periods. The business description section of the annual securities report still uses the segment names in place before the change.
  • The ownership structure combines founders and partners. The president and the vice president, who co-founded the company in 1992, both appear among the major shareholders. LY Corporation, with which the company signed a capital and business alliance in December 2016 (as Carview), is the second-largest shareholder. Shinto Tsushin Co., Ltd., which co-founded Media4u in 2005, is also listed (see Shareholders).
  • Qualitative statements are taken from the annual securities report for the year to March 2026 and the first-quarter earnings release for the year to March 2027.

No.1 B2B SMS platform operator with used-car dealer SaaS 'symphony'; FY26/3 revenue ¥10.6B, OP ¥1.2B, profitability trending down as Media4u SMS subsidiary carries the group. FY27/3 brings a new progressive dividend policy after buybacks and a capital reserve reduction, alongside full repayment of long-term borrowings. Research flags heavy reliance on the SMS subsidiary for sales and profit, weaker Automotive Platform and Auto Service results, and still-early monetization of newer symphony services.
