Business overview

  • Segue Group is a pure holding company that, as of the end of 2025, oversees seven consolidated subsidiaries. They design, sell, build, operate and maintain IT infrastructure and network security systems. The largest operating company traces back to 1995, when the current president founded it.
  • The group reports a single segment, IT Solutions. Sales are split into Solution Products and Solution Services. Products are security and IT infrastructure hardware and software imported as a distributor from overseas makers, led by the United States, plus self-developed software such as the RevoWorks browser-isolation and zero-trust line and the WisePoint authentication line. Services cover design and construction, maintenance, help desk, security monitoring and assessment, IT department outsourcing (Kaetec) and engineer dispatch.
  • The group sells mainly through system integrators, telecom carriers and distributors rather than directly to end users. The annual securities report for the year to December 2025 states that a high share of sales goes to central ministries and local governments, and it names Marubeni Network Solutions as a customer above the ten-percent reporting threshold (see Performance & Balance).
  • Overseas operations consist of two consolidated companies in Thailand, ISS Resolution and First One Systems. Japan accounts for nearly all external sales. The consolidated workforce was 712 at the end of 2025, with 28 employees at the holding company.

Investment case

  1. The annual securities report for the year to December 2025 states that the group won several 'super-large' Government Solution Service (GSS) projects plus other large projects in 2025. It also states that orders received and the order backlog were well above the prior year, and it attributes the growth in sales and profit to these projects (see Performance & Balance).
  2. Under its Segue300 mid-term plan, which ends with the year to December 2026, the company raised its stretch 'challenge' targets in light of 2025 progress. The first-quarter earnings release for the year to December 2026 keeps a full-year forecast that matches those raised targets and states that first-quarter results were broadly on plan.
  3. The company describes maintenance, help desk, operations monitoring, engineer services, RevoWorks Cloud and managed security services as recurring 'stock-type' businesses. The first-quarter release reports continued growth in RevoWorks Cloud and managed security services. It also reports the March 2026 launch of RevoWorks Plus EDR and the announcement of RiskLoom, an AI-based security document assessment service.
  4. The company forecasts a higher dividend for the year to December 2026, including an interim payment, than for the year to December 2025. Its articles allow the board to declare interim dividends and to buy back shares by board resolution (see Performance & Balance).

Bear case

  1. The first-quarter release states that the quarter included revenue from the final installment of a super-large GSS project won the previous year. Quarterly comparisons later in the year therefore will not include that project. The company also states that one large systems integration project held down margins in 2025.
  2. In the year to December 2025, operating cash flow was negative because receivables, inventory and advance payments to suppliers grew. The gap was funded largely by an increase in short-term bank borrowing (see Performance & Balance).
  3. The company raised equity through a public offering of new shares paid in on February 9, 2026, which increased the share count and diluted existing holders' per-share interests. Capital stock and capital surplus rose by the same amount.
  4. The business-risk section states that purchases from the suppliers listed under its key contracts make up a majority of group purchases. It also states that its main distribution agreements bar direct sales to end users. Juniper Networks, one of its long-standing supplier brands, was acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2025.

Catalysts

  • Results for the year to December 2026, the final year of the Segue300 mid-term plan, will show whether the raised challenge targets and the unchanged full-year forecast are met.
  • Second-quarter results for the period ending June 30, 2026, which is also the record date for the forecast interim dividend. The first-quarter release says both Thai subsidiaries have won projects expected to be booked from the second quarter onward.
  • The annual securities report states that the AI-based security assessment service released in beta in September 2025 is set up for full commercialization in fiscal 2026. Further M&A is also possible, since the company's challenge targets explicitly include acquisitions.

Key risks

  • Concentration. The top five sales partners account for a substantial share of consolidated sales, and purchases are concentrated among a few overseas makers. Changes in partner policy, in supplier terms, or in a supplier's ownership could affect results.
  • Earnings volatility and currency. The company states that its high fixed-cost structure, led by personnel costs, makes operating profit swing more than sales. Imports are settled in US dollars while most sales are in yen. The company hedges with forward contracts and currency options, but states that hedging cannot remove all risk.
  • Acquisitions and overseas operations. Goodwill from acquisitions could be impaired. In Thailand, foreign ownership rules bar foreign companies from holding a majority of shares, so the group holds part of ISS Resolution through an intermediate holding company, SEGUE (Thailand), in which it holds 49 percent of the voting rights. First One Systems is 60-percent owned.
  • Governance concentration. The founding president is listed first among major shareholders and chairs the board (see Shareholders). The internal audit office reports directly to the president and is staffed by one person. The company is an audit and supervisory committee company, with a voluntary nomination and compensation committee set up in February 2021 that has a majority of outside directors.

Assumptions

  • Financial figures on this page come from beluuga.ai's daily data set; trading liquidity is measured over the period shown. We do not use consensus estimates.
  • Balance-sheet and share-count comparisons between December 2025 and March 2026 reflect the February 2026 equity offering and a large swing in cash, short-term borrowings and advances. The first-quarter release does not include a cash flow statement.
  • Group composition has changed recently, which affects year-on-year comparisons. The company sold 95 percent of J's Telecom System in October 2024, merged J's Solution into the holding company in August 2025, took a network integration business from Netfarms in September 2025, and made Segue Security wholly owned in December 2025.
  • Qualitative statements are taken from the annual securities report for the year to December 2025 and the first-quarter earnings release for the year to December 2026.
